The Monache ESA staff is full of teachers who are passionate about what they teach. They create a healthy and beneficial work environment for our students.
John Sherrill
John Sherrill is the Lead Teacher for the Environmental Science Academy, as well as a Monache alum (Class of 2001) and Porterville native. Sherrill earned his Associate Degree in Communications, Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Science from the University of Phoenix, and is attending Johns Hopkins University this Fall to earn his Masters. Sherrill has been teaching at Monache since 2014, and He teaches All 4 Academy classes:

Robert Morfin
Robert Morfin is an English teacher for the Environmental Science Academy and teaches 2 academy class:
11th and 12th grade ESA English.
Morfin grew up in the Central Valley, graduated from Mt. Whitney High School, and UC Davis (Go Aggies!). Morfin started teaching at Monache in 2001, and enjoys golfing and barbecuing.
Gregory Olson
Gregory Olson is a 11th grade teacher for the Environmental Science Academy and he teaches one academy class, US History ESA. Olson has been teaching at Monache since 2004. Olson has coached boys and girls swimming, taught AP Psychology for 12 years now and has seen many ESA students take the course with some going on to major in Psychology in college.
Chris Likewise
Chris Likewise is a English Teacher at Monache High School. Likwise has been teaching at Monache since 1998.
Ryan Price
Ryan Price is an English Teacher at Monache High School. Price teaches English 2P Comp ESA, and English 1P Comp ESA.
Revecca Karnoff
Revecca Karnoff is the Environmental Science Academy Pathway Assistant. Karnoff joined the Academy team in 2021 and is a Monache alumni.

Amanda Wyrick
Amanda Wyrick is a Science Teacher at Monache High School.
Briana Bamber
Briana Bamber is a Social Studies Teacher at Monache High School. Bamber is a Monache alumni, class of 2013, in the MTA Pathway. Bamber has her AA in History from Porterville College, and a Bachelor’s Degree in History from Urbana University in Ohio. Bamber started teaching at Monache in 2021.
Melissa Giannetto
Melissa Giannetto, is an Assistant Principal at Monache High School. Giannetto has been working in the district since 1998.
Flor Sozinho
Flor Sozinho is entering her 5th year as a Monache High School counselor! She earned her Bachelor's Degree in Child Development from Fresno State and a Masters in Educational Counseling from CSU Bakersfield. She is also the counselor for AVID. She loves family, friends, running, and coffeeeeee!! Mrs. Sozinho looks forward to getting to know our MHS students and have visitors in her office so do not hesitate to get to know her!
